Een creditcard mee op reis?

Wanneer je op reis gaat, is het belangrijk om je van tevoren goed voor te bereiden. Je moet heel veel zaken op orde hebben zodat je niet voor verrassingen komt te staan tijdens je reis. Zo moet je denken aan verzekeringen, visums, paspoort, vaccinaties, slaapplaatsen en vervoer. Maar wat ook erg belangrijk is, geld! 

Handig

Geld is zeker een belangrijk iets op reis, je moet ten slotte toch alles bekostigen. Hoe vaak ik al niet meegemaakt heb in het buitenland en dan met name buiten Europa dat mijn normale pinpas gewoonweg niet werkt bij automaten of winkels is niet meer op twee handen te tellen!
En wat doe je dan? Je moet naar een bankgebouw toe om toch aan geld te komen, deze zijn vaak niet zo snel in de buurt te vinden, zeker niet als je door het binnenland trekt en al ben je in een grote stad dan nog zijn ze maar bepaalde tijden open.

Vaak hoor je mensen zeggen ik wil echt geen creditcard, maar als je veel reist heb je eigenlijk geen keuze en is een creditcard gewoon belangrijk. En je hoeft de kaart verder niet te gebruiken natuurlijk maar op reis en van te voren het hotel enz. betalen kan het goed van pas komen.

Ik heb 1 keer gehad in Guatemala dat mijn pinpas niet werkte en we hadden even geen bankgebouw in de buurt, gelukkig was ik op reis met een gezelschap en hierdoor was het probleem even opgelost maar vanaf dat moment ga ik nooit meer op reis zonder creditcard. Het is vreselijk onhandig en gewoon een onzekerheid als je niet kunt pinnen.

Voordelen

Hieronder zal ik een aantal voordelen benoemen van een creditcard.

  • Aflevergarantie, wanneer je met creditcard iets betaald dan heb je recht op terugbetaling wanneer je iets niet krijgt, een hotel failliet is of er een excursie niet doorgaat. Super handig dus.
  • Alle aankopen met een creditcard zijn 180 dagen verzekerd.
  • Geen gedoe met los geld, dus alles gaat een stuk sneller.
  • Vanuit huis je hotels, vervoer enz alvast boeken, hier wordt meestal ook een creditcard voor gevraagd.
  • In noodgevallen is het altijd handig om een creditcard bij je te hebben.
  • In luxere hotels heb je altijd een creditcard nodig.
  • Klein en handig om mee te nemen.
  • Je kunt er overal ter wereld mee betalen.

Dus heb je een creditcard nodig op reis? Jazeker die heb je nodig! Vaak is de aanschaf ervan niet moeilijk en ook echt niet zo duur als mensen van te voren denken. Laat je gewoon goed informeren voordat je er ergens een aanschaft.

Voor mij als reizigster is een creditcard echt een must! Ik ga nooit meer op reis zonder dat ik het bij me heb. Heb en gebruik jij de creditcard op reis of juist niet? Laat het mij hieronder weten! Safe travels…

Een auto huren zonder Credit Card is ook gewoon onmogelijk. Ook daarvoor heb je er gewoon een nodig.
